Final Time Freight/Lake Heritage event before Midmar Mile (22/23/01/2011)

The Time Freight Lake Heritage Water Festival on the 22/23 January was the culmination of a busy open water swimming series at this venue. Known as the "cleanest dam in Gauteng", Lake Heritage is situated at Heia Safari Ranch near Muldersdrift.



In the first event on Saturday, a 3km swim, was won by13year old Maralies Ross who posted an impressive 41minutes and 7 seconds. 3minutes later,second place was secured by Byron Dillon .


The 5km event saw a world class performance by  17 year old Abdul Malik Railoun in a time of 60 minutes 55 seconds



1200m - Girls 13 & Under, Women 31 & Over...no results available as I write this 


1200m - Boys 13 & Under, Men 31 & Over
Garreth Wood was impressive with his victory in the boys 13&under with a solid 15minutes 59 seconds over the fast 1200m course.
   
1200m - Women 14 to 30  
 Suzanne Janse van Rensburg from Polokwani won in 14 minutes 32 seconds in her maiden open water swimming event.

 1200m - Men 14 to 30
 Abdul Malik Railoun won in 14 minutes 20 seconds, finishing a full 30 seconds ahead of his nearest rival Riccardo Caldera.

Springbok swimmer Terence Parker and his daughters entered the final event of the day...a 400m fun swim.





The day was a huge success with more entrants and faster times than previously recorded.Both young and old enjoyed the day!

The oldest swimmer at 81! and he finished in under 40mins...congratulations
