The Strand and Gordon's Bay,an afternoon well spent

We left the seclusion of KaapsePracht Bed & Breakfast and headed off to find a beach...

On of the best beaches in the area...The Strand

We got there in the late afternoon when the heat of the day finally caught up with this fellow.

For others there were still a lot of activities to participate in

This is one of the most striking buildings on Beach Road...not sure of the architectural style, but it looks spectacular...

even though there was a wind blowing, my wife was keen on dipping her toes into the cold Atlantic Ocean!

A modern waterfront building surrounded by gulls

Unfortunately no Pam Anderson or David Hasselhof in sight.

A couple of kite surfers playing in the waves...

A fence to keep bathers in or out?

Not sure what this is but it did appeal to me...

Bright sunlight on water on the beach...

We left The Strand and headed a few kms down the coast to Gordon's Bay Harbour...

I noticed this quirky house amongst all the other more modern ones...

Waves crashing on a rocky outcrop...

As the light faded it was time to head back to our B&B...
