Olive Thrushes

This is the first season that our cats did not contribute to the genocide of the Olive Thrushes (Turdus olivaceus) that live in our garden.

Normally only one chick survives, it seems that two have this time.

We have a large iron dragonfly in our garden and they seem to use this as cover.

The small stream that I created in one corner of the garden offers them food, water and a place to bathe.

A quick drink in the early morning sun

Coming in on a wing and a prayer.

This particular bird seemed to be "The Boss"...

and exercised his/her rights to the full.

I am sooooooo cute!

Yes, this is my good side...

"If I stay down here will you let me stay"?

Time for a bath...

Let the fun begin.

Don't forget to wash under the wings...

and other body parts...

This Thrush certainly enjoyed this bath in the warm Autumn morning sun...
