Situated on the Botswana border in the North West,
this reserve is one of my favourites...
Of the 22 commercial lodges, I have been privileged to visit 11,
some more than once!
A herd of Elephants making their way to a waterhole/
The deck at Buffalo Ridge Safari Lodge.
One of two community run lodges
A Spotted Hyena
The lounge area at Tuningi Safari Lodge.
Thakadu River Camp.
This is the other community run lodge/
A Lilac-breasted Roller,
the national bird of Botswana
and a resident in the Reserve.
For a genuine bush experience, Mosetlha Bush Camp is the real deal.
Hot water from a Donkey boiler and VIP "long-drop" toilets/
I have visited this camp on several occasions.
A male Southern Masked Weaver looking for a mate.
I hope to visit Etali again this year.
I last visited 10 years ago, and unfortunately
I cannot find any images from that trip.
Time to stop monkeying around and head back to the bush.
Thanks to Mosetlha Bush Camp and Federal Air,
my first bush visit of 2013 is coming up soon!
Most of these camps have won "TRAVEL & THINGS" Blog Awards.
