Lion Sands, Sabi Sands

Some final images from our visit to this Lodge.

The Toulon Gate that separates Kruger National Park for Sabi Sands,
is just that...a gate!
There is no fence on either side.
The function of this "control point"is to monitor the traffic.

A female Golden Orb web spider...

A young Crested Barbet

Early morning from the deck at the Lodge

 Sunlight through a lemon slice...
If life gives you lemons...
photograph them.

A Mopani worm...
Delicious with a tomato and onion sauce...

A pair of Crowned Hornbills

A fluffed up African Green Pigeon in the early morning sunlight

Another Crested Barbet.

A Swainson's Spurfowl and chick.

I have NO idea what this is!
If YOU do,
please mail me your thoughts.

A pair of Thick-Knees at a water hole

No one would accuse a Buffalo of having thick knees!

I have seen ice cubes in urinals,
but never pebbles in a wash hand basin

A Lilac Breasted Roller.
Almost the national emblem of the area.

A warthog...
a face that only a mother could love?

Catching a ride...
Four Red-Billed Oxpeckers on the back of a female Kudu

The only lion we saw in five days...

But we did see five leopards!
We had a very special Leopard sighting:
