Birdlife on the Chobe River. Part 1


A Squacco Heron hiding in the reeds.


A brave African Jacana chick struts past an enormous Nile Crocodile.

a Wire-tailed Swallow looks on 

A Little Egret in flight... 

A Great Egret keeping a wary eye open. 

A Great Egret with elephants on the horizon... 

An African Openbill... 

A rather ungainly landing for the Openbill 

A Grey-headed Gull...
Not many gulls on the river. 

An African Jacana

King of hover...
A Pied Kingfisher. 

A pair of African Fish Eagles.
There "plaintiff" call woke me every morning 

Black-winged Stilts coming in to land...

Fish Eagle and Elephants...
