Great fish River Lodge, Kwandwe, Eastern Cape

This is my third visit to this Reserve in the Eastern Cape.
It was also part of a "beach and bush" package that I had been invited to experience

My second visit to this Lodge.
I always enjoy coming back to a game lodge I have visited before.

My room on this trip is similar to the one I had on my last visit.
But I was not expecting to spend much time here...
Although the pool did look inviting!

I did like the bedside light...
I wonder where I can get one?

The lunch menu on our first day.
You do not have to choose as ALL the dishes are presented to you (in small portions) on a plate

Most of the decor in the main building has remained the same since my last visit.
Except that the leather has been replaced with material,
giving a softer feel to the interior

Even though I don't drink, I enjoy taking this type of picture

Old glass bottles make up part of the lounge decor

Part of the seating area on the deck outside the lounge

The Eastern Cape is cactus country.
Even though the reserve is currently very dry,
there was still some colour on these plants

The walkway to get to and from my room...

Ranger and tracker looking for Buffalo...
Eventually we did find them.
However they were so deep in the bush that a photograph was impossible.

On the ridge...
A White Rhino in silhouette

And out in the open.
There were four Rhino in this group...
This one was the most inquisitive

Africa's largest land mammal...
The elephant.

This one was eating less than 3m from the vehicle,
but he was very relaxed

Lesley, who organised the trip...
Many thanks...
However, you could have organised better weather on the first couple of days!

Sundowners on a pontoon on this dam in the South of the property

 Not full moon...

Towards the end of our first game drive we came across a pair of Bat-eared Foxes.
Always a good sighting...even if it was difficult to photograph.
Still on the list:
1] Cats
2] Aardvark
3] Gemsbok
Not a difficult ask?
