Up close and personal at Nottens Bush Camp, Sabi Sands

There is nothing better than getting THIS close with the Big 5...
Lion.

Rhino

Buffalo...

Elephant...

and on this trip,
not one but two leopards.
This is the Warthog Wallow female.
We were told that she had a cub, but we did not get to see it.

This is the Mathlatini male...

Unfortunately for the Hyena,
it is one of the "Ugly 5"...

Like her male counterpart,
this lioness is part of the "Big 5"...
Although they are not normally hunted as trophy's.

The Zebra and not on either list,
but they are a prey species...

The Dwarf Mongoose should be on a "Cute 5" list

And so should this lion cub...
until it gets big enough to kill...

Gene Gnome was busy learning to be a tracker.
Unsuccessfully I might add, as he would not put the basket down.

A study in concentration.
A Chacma Baboon

As humans we would struggle to move the "weight-body-size" object that a Dung Beetle can

In case you were wondering,
THIS is where I was.

A Cape Glossy Starling...
except it is not in the Cape.

A Grey Heron...

A Hamerkop...

And finally a Red-billed Ox pecker with a Buffalo attached...

The end of ANOTHER day in Africa...
and the end of my Safari.
My thanks to:
Dave and Dale.
All the staff at the camp.
Jeff and Gideon
My vehicle companions, especially Darryl and Tim.
But not forgetting Joan and David...
As well as the "lost" Dutch group. I hope your return journey was shorter.
