Andy's Acoustic Forum, January 2014

WELCOME BACK...

Photo
Andy back behind the microphone.
Another opening, another show.
However, Andy,
don't you think that you should stop tapping the microphone to see if it is working?
Just saying...

Photo
First artist of 2014...
Michael Plaxton-Harrison.
A guitarist I have not heard of before...
He spent more time with the pedals than interacting with the audience...
And when he did look up, he glared!
Not the way and audience likes to be treated Michael.

Photo
The music that he produced was not to my taste...
to much "electronic" enhancement, but a section of the audience seemed to enjoy his set.
I do believe that all artists, should be limited to three songs or 15 minutes.

Photo
This young performer has her own record label.
How cool is that?
Eden Michele of Jem Records

Photo
This is her first signing.
A rapper at an acoustic evening?
Whatever next...
Owen Kay stayed away from the crass and the crude
and in so doing, won the audience over

Photo
Let your fingers do the walking...

Photo
Another Bala on stage.
Not one of the "famous" brothers, but a relative.
This is Tony Bala...another new signing to the lable

Photo
The trio in action...

Photo
My favourite of the evening...
Etienne and Ami...
Margaret's Daughter.

Photo
Some rockin' acoustic music

Photo
In English and Afrikaans

Photo
And kick-ass vocals and guitar work as well.
Interesting to note that most of the artists brought merchandise.
Good for you!

Photo
Liz and Mickey...
Spilled Pink.

Photo
This is their first appearance at AAF...
and in front of an audience from what I could gather.

Photo
There was some nervousness,
but their sense of humour easily overcame those.

Photo
This is why I come to AAF.
Acoustic music in its purest form.

Photo
Ending off the evening...for those who had stayed.
Shotgun Tory.

Photo
Her feet are as expressive as her face.

Photo
In full flight...

Photo
A great set to end of the first AAF event of 2014.
The next event will be on 26/02/2014.
Be there...
