The hottest ticket in town on a chilly winter's evening.
Madam Z will be in Johannesburg until the end of 2014.
But book today,
tickets sell faster than ice-cream on a hot summer day.
My wife and I were very lucky to be able to get a table recently
The show is housed in one of the last mirror tents in the world.
To read more about this type of tent:
Known for eclectic decor, you never know what you might find...
The juxtaposition of the card readers and the statue caught my attention
Lots of "goodies" to make your Zingarian experience more fun
They have some of the best face painters I have ever seen!
The Zombie Apocalypse starts here...
I wonder if this couple would have kept the make up to wear to the office?
She was only a bird in a gilded cage...
I had the good fortune to sit in on a rehearsal before the show started
Our "waiter" for the evening...
She looked tired.
In fact I would go so far as to say;
"She looked dead on her feet"...
There is something almost hypnotic about watching the staff serve and clear dishes.
Done at speed and with a minimum of fuss.
They got our food order spot on, but unfortunately our cappuccinos got lost in transit.
We did get them eventually.
Considering the amount of people that they serve with both food and drink,
it was just a miscommunication that caused the "problem"
Another opening, another show...
A hand balancing act.
The "hosts" for the evening...
Mr C and Pompanicol, they supplied the comedy aspect
This duo of contortionists had the crowd enthralled
Madam Z is know for its off-beat singing.
Almost a mixture of West African and Gregorian chanting.
This singer was the accompaniment to the next act
When Rose is not pole-dancing, she is the stage manager
The Russian balancing beam act took this performer to great heights.
Our favourite act of the evening.
Bollas and drums from the Argentine.
Mr. C can certainly pick audience members...
This "taxi" sketch was hilarious...for both the audience and this lady
One final aerial act...
They end off their balancing act with a spectacular display.
To tell you more would be to give away to much...
A good time was had by all.
Currently the first available seats are in July.
But that should not stop you from calling the booking office
to inquire about possible cancellations.
Madam Z is a quirky, irreverent look at burlesque theatre.
This is my fifth visit and each time I have been amazed
by how much the audience is prepared to HAVE FUN.
A great venue to take clients, celebrate a special event...
or just a date night.
Good food, relaxed atmosphere and entertainment with a capital "E".
