Jazz at Winchester Mansions, Sea Point. Cape Town

Every Sunday from 11h00-14h00,Winchester Mansions hosts a Jazz Brunch.
Once a month, it is preceded by a Saturday night dinner at Harvey's
And judging how full the venue was at both events,
it is VERY popular.
Booking is essential.

"Basic" jazz quartet...
And the bottle of wine in the foreground is to make certain that they keep playing.

Glamming it up for my camera?
The lead singer, Amy Campbell, has a great voice

Lunch...or part of it.

Fresh salads...

A view over the buffet table.
The breads to the right of frame were from breakfast.

There has to be a REAL double bass in a jazz band!
End of discussion...
Charles Lazar proved that.

An electric keyboard is allowed due to size constraints.
Jason Reolon, sans sunglasses, giving it stick

And a PROPER drum kit...
And the "leader" of the quartet for the afternoon,
Maurice Gawronsky.
They have released a CD that contains the "best of"
which is available on demand.

So drop in next month,
and enjoy brunch, bubbly, a newspaper
AND great Jazz...
