This patisserie opened in November 2014,
finally I paid them a visit.
I walked in to find this tray of recently completed cinnamon buns.
Luckily for me, they were for an order and not for sale.
Gender specific gingerbread "people"...
These WERE for sale, but I resisted
There is nothing better than the smell of freshly baked bread...
Trust me on this.
The BIGGEST meringues I have ever seen
The shop is decorated with a variety of different crockery for sale
There are two indoor tables for customers,
should it be too cold outdoors.
Scones...all that is missing is the jam and cream...
There is a small seating area outside the shop,
where customers can watch the passing parade.
And enjoy some of the wares served up here
The shop is owned by Sharon van Tonder,
seen here serving one of the many customers that walked in while I was there.
She does not work alone...
She has help from her daughter Lauren van Tonder
Aside from the goodies that they bake for the shop,
they also offer a catering service.
I am not certain what these are,
but they did smell delicious
Glassware on sale.
Aside from these small containers,
they also have different sizes of glass bell jars in stock
All of the baking is done out of two small domestic ovens.
Quite a feat.
More wonderful bread makes an appearance
And this is where the cinnamon buns went.
Regular customer, Vicky, taking home her spoils
Lauren and Sharon like using onions for decoration
All sorts of wonderful cakes and tarts...
I did notice my one of my favourites,
a lemon meringue pie, on the table
When I arrived, this tray was full of homemade pies.
When I left, about 20 minutes later, there was just this lonely one left.
The shop is opposite the Linden Laerskool.
Just off the corner of 7th Street and 3rd Ave.
This seems to be the "new" area for eateries.
