MORE images from Marataba Safari/Trails Lodges, Waterberg

My wonderful wife, Carolyn, shared my birthday with me.

The backdrop for most of our weekend
were the magnificent Waterberg Mountains

There are several large dams within Marataba,
this was as a result of the fact that the area used to be farm land

The almost mirror like surface as we glide along on the Miss Mara

Sunshine on the water...looks so lovely.
Thank you John Denver

There is NOTHING quite like an African sunset

Time to head for home...

Good night and goodbye

The Waterberg, from the Trails Lodge.
We awoke to this vista every day of our visit

I want one of these for our garden.

These little "fellows" were the cause of most of my problems while walking.
They are rather persistent, and once hooked it took a while to free myself.
I discovered that if you struggle, more of them seem to take hold

All the images in this posting were taken
from either Marataba Safari Lodge(left)
or
the Marataba Trails Lodge(right)
Both are highly recommended.

City Hopper was professional from my first contact with Gloria,
to the time my wife and I said goodbye to Henk.
Aside from transfers to a variety of game reserves in and around Johannesburg
and Pretoria, they also offer tours of both cities as well as Soweto.
I can highly recommend them for punctuality and efficiency.
