A change is as good as a holiday.A new look for "Travel & Things".

In order to make access to the published postings quicker and simpler,
I have reviewed the headings...
Hopefully this will make the site more user friendly
and destination specific.
This is a brand new category and one that give me the opportunity
to express myself on certain topics.
No "ranting", merely observational

SA Blog Awards Badge
I am very proud of the awards that the Blog has won to date
Most travelers try to spend as little time in the air,
or in airports.
Unless you have access to a business class lounge or seat.
Find out who have been guests on my "Travel & Things"
radio show
I have seperated the podcasts from the guest lists.
Here you can catch up on shows that you might have missed,
or want to listen to again
This is one of the recent podcasts.
I do not take images of EVERY meal that I eat.
But the special ones are published here.
In 2009, I an my daughter did a roadtrip to Cape Town.
It took us 9 days to get there from Johannesburg
and we enjoyed every minute!
It is something I highly recommend that every parent experience
I do enjoy being at a Spa, some are better than others.
You can read my opinions here
This covers a wide variety of subjects,
that I enjoy "shooting"
I started going to the bush in 1966 and I am happiest there.
I have been extremely lucky when it comes to my lodge visits
and these are the highlights
My evry first bush experience was at this iconic reserve.
And, if you choose your accommodation correctly,
it is STILL an exciting destination
My all time FAVOURITE game Reserve.
Closer to Johannesburg than Kruger,
it offers the "Big 5" as well as Wild Dog and Cheetah
This area is probably the most exciting game viewing area
in Southern Africa.
I am in awe of bird photographers.
They need the patience of Job and
BIG lenses...neither of which I posess
Not all wild life has to have teeth and claws.
I find baboons MOST entertaining
As my daughter currently lives in Cape Town,
I try to visit regularly...
This is my home province.
It is underrated as a tourist destination,
but offers great beach and bush opportunities.
Not to mention the historical angle
KZN is probably the richest province from a historical perspective.
It is also home to the Midlands Meander
I have only visited this area once,
but I was taken aback by what it has to offer the adventure tourist
If you live in either Pretoria or Johannesburg,
then this area is a "must visit" destination.
The province in which I currently reside.
Even though it does not have an ocean, there is plenty to see and do
My suburb...that I love living in.
It is like "small town" South Africa...
but surrounded by a big city!
If you like acoustic music and live in Johannesburg,
then this is the place to be on the last Wednesday of every month
Although I enjoy overseas travel,
I love visiting countries on our continent.
Never done a coach tour before?
Have a look at my experiences
Our overseas travel has included many "bucket list" destinations.
I cannot begin to describe how much I enjoy cruising.
Read of my experiences here
I stood on the top of this mountain in 2006...
I did it again in 2014.
Both times to raise awareness for certain causes
Would I return again?
Watch this space...
This is the first of the Islands I have visited.
Timing here is everything, so that you are not overrun by families
with small children
Not quite an "island" venue, but you stay on the mainland
or visit one of the many islands.
I have done both
An all time favourite island destination.
So much to see and do here.

I do hope that you like the new "easy access",
and that you will visit often.
