A "bird's eye" from our balcony.
I was hoping for a wonderful sunrise over the Indian Ocean,
but the weather had not received the memo.
With humidity so high, this mist spray on the terrace
was most welcome.
At least I did not have to catch my own breakfast.
All I had to do was ask politely,
and it was plated up and handed to me.
These birds seem to be the lesser of two evils.
The hotel is plagued by Vervet Monkeys, who seem to have no fear.
Interestingly, the entire troop "vanished"
during the two year renovations...
only to reappear the moment the hotel reopened for business.
We did not see any of these nuisance primates during our stay.
Not matter which direction you look in,
this Lighthouse is "centre stage"!
I was told that it was being renovated recently,
and hotel guests asked for their money back...
as the scaffolding got in their way.
Between the rocks...
And trying NOT to get a ship in the picture.
The horizon was filled with ships for the entire duration of our stay.
This piece of drift wood appeared overnight.
If we had our own car we could have taken it home
to become part of one of my sculptures.
Aside from many fishermen,
runners use the beach for strength training.
When families with young children check in to the hotel,
the youngsters get a spade and a net.
And a wrist band...in case they get "lost".
I should imagine that in the not too distant future,
this will be replaced with an electronic tag,
operated from a Smartphone App!
At least Mom and Dad have peace of mind.
My final office for the trip.
The Clock Library,
And guess what was looming in the window...
Like a stalker in a horror movie.
I did head out for one run along the side of the promenade.
The walk-way is used by young and old alike.
I wonder if this trio had any luck?
There is something hypnotic about watching waves crashing on the rocks.
"When I grow up,
I want to be a lighthouse"...
Time to fly.
Almost time to head off to the airport and out flight home.
The "holiday" is almost over...
