Week four...and the tale of the tape...The Ultimate You Challenge.

Think on this:
As an Aloe grows, it does not shed the "baggage"
that it carries.
It uses that "baggage" to support its new growth.
Without it the plant would be top heavy,
and probably not able to support itself.
We as humans are constantly trying to shed our "baggage".
Why?
Do we feel that if we lose it we cannot move forward?
Should we not embrace it, make it part of who we are
and THEN move forward?
Let us use our past experiences to make ourselves STRONGER.
"Failures" are lessons...
To quote an old Japanese proverb...
"In every crisis there is opportunity"
As we enter the final four weeks of this challenge,
let us all focus on the opportunities
and strive to attain the goals that we set for ourselves.
#thechoiceismine.

On a recent trip to Cape Town, my team mate and I wer able to meet
with the founder of Sleekgeek, Elan Lohnman.
We spent a couple of hours discussing our own goals
as well as how Elan hopes to change the mindset
of South Africans and make them think "healthy".

This is what I want to look like in my final challenge photograph...

BATZ BUDDIES are rising to the occasion.
Dad (David) and Daughter(Jayne) have joined forces
to support and encourage
each other (and the other teams) to do their best.
I got to visit my daughter in Cape Town this week.
This is an updated image.
Her support and encouragement have been crucial to me.
Not only did she encourage me to enter this UYC,
but she is making certain that I stick to the "plan".

"Cheesecake"....
RUN!

We shared a couple of healthy meals together.
Jayne made certain that there were vegetables on our plates.
She did not "force" me into this,
but she did encourage me when I made the choice.

And even when I had lunch at the conference I was attending,
I was mindful to include vegetables on my plate...
and NO dessert.

I could not have said it better myself.
In a sea of cynicism, jealousy and often vitriol,
I find the groups involved the various challenges
to be the absolute antithesis.
May you all attain the goals that you are striving to achieve.

This week it was time for the "tale of the tape".
I am happy to announce that my measurements
are all heading in the right direction
2cm off my belt-line
and 3cm off my tummy
*doing a happy dance*

Jayne is working with this team
and from what I have seen on Facebook,
they are an incredibly supportive and motivated group.

I am hoping that this team is on track?
I wish you all the best for your collective goals.

I really like the team names,
and the logos that they have designed.
I trust that by the end of this challenge,
this team will be able to change the "MUST FALL"
to "HAVE FALLEN".

Follow me as I tackle what might well be the toughest
fitness challenge I have volunteered for.
The challenge starts on May 16 and will run for 8 weeks.
