Mziki Game Lodge, North West province. Look beyond the game...

Sometimes it is not always about the game that is spotted while out on a drive.
although that is the objective of the guests, both local and International.
However, if the wild life does not want to "play along",
you need to occupy your time on the vehicle by focussing on something other
than fur and feathers.

That being said, it is always great to find Zebra lit by the morning sun...

The Hex River...
Great bird life.
Any expanse of water seems to have a calming effect on the human soul.

Nature's necklace...
A spider web with overnight dew.

I was told that this body of water has no name.
I thought that was not fair seeing that every other pan and dam on the reserve is named.
I decided to call this "Desolation Pan"...

This does not seem to stop the animals from using the "highways and byways" within the reserve.

Time to take the road less travelled?

A exercise in "Name the animal that deposited this"...

An African sunset...
The best in the world?

A Bush Cow?
Certainly not!
The African Buffalo is NOT to be trifled with...

The evening sky reflected in the calm waters of the Hex River.

If you need cotton wool while in the bush,
you can always use these.

Spot the grasshopper.

You can use this grass as part of a magic act.
Ask Ranger Devon to show you when you visit.

The Hex River flowing over the spillway.
A great spot to find birds and catfish.

Time to head back to camp.

I liked the composition...
It is not always about the "big stuff".
There is so much to see, enjoy, and learn about while on a drive.

Bedtime for the water birds.

Bush TV...Hypnotic.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and recommend it as
"quick fix" for those who have a hankering to get into the bush
but don't have the time (or the inclination) to drive for several hours.
The Lodge offers discounts for senior citizens, a first as far as I am aware.

GammaTek is my powerbank supplier of choice.
One of my problems is often lack of battery power
if I have been using the camera on my phone.
I have tried many "powerbanks",
but the majority drain before they can fully recharge my device.
This is where this Powerbank has the edge...
it can recharge my phone up to 7 times,
before it needs to be recharged.
